Friday April 8th. I needed to go down to the Murat to pickup some ticket for Jethro Tull tonight, so I figured I would just meet Courtney at Target on West side of 82nd Street to make it easier for her. Courtney threw the girls bag in the trunk, and said bye to the girls.
We drove downtown. On the way Azure was anxious to show me the “Fairy” language she created. And some of her spells that she was working on. I was listening to a CD about Procrastination and self doubt. Azure asked me some questions about it.
We made it to the Murat. It was windy and very cool. Upper 40s probably. Not really April weather. I found a parking spot by the Murat and ran in. I thought that they would have my tickets at will call, but turns out that Chris had them in his pocket.
The people at the window radioed for Chris, He came out front and gave me my tickets. He said he was going to take his puppy home ( His dog stays at work with him sometimes)
and then come back to watch the show.
Chris said that Ian Anderson had been hanging out in his office for the last 30 minutes. I went back to the car and Azure and Zarah and I walked over to the Mass Ave toy Store. They have SOME interesting toys, but wow are they over priced. We stayed in there for 30-45 minutes. I was waiting for Chris to call me back but he never did.
We drove towards Cicero. I was hungry and wanted something good to eat. We ended up at Yats at 54th and College. My Old stomping ground. A lot has changed here and a lot is the same. I got my usual. The owner happened to be there. I know him because I have been going here since he opened this first one almost 20 years ago. ( He now has 15 locations) I asked him what was playing overhead. He said was “Stanley Clarke” It was some really memory evoking Jazz, I was digging it.
The girls didn’t get anything but I asked them to try mine.
I gave Zarah a small bite of the Spinach and Mushroom Etouffee and the Black beans and Caramelized corn..The look of total taste bud confusion registering a Zarah’s face was priceless. She didn’t dislike it. I was cracking up.
Azure saw a painting of a red cat with sunglasses on the wall above my head she said she wanted to try and paint it this weekend.
Frank went to pickup Deeya at the Airport around 6:30. They beat us home. Deeya texted me at 8:15 to ask where we were. We got there at 8:45. As soon as we walked in the Brooklynn came down stairs and the 3 of them started carrying on. Laughing and cracking up. I caught a few things on my Iphone.
After Brooklynn went to bed Zarah wanted to play with Play doh and Azure wanted to work on her “Fairy” Spells. While they weren’t expecting it I gave Zarah a “Beanie Boo Octopus” that I had bought I don’t know how many months ago. She Instantly kept saying “I love it I love it”… over and over. I gave Azure a “Harry Potter 2” Movie with behind the scenes and a book and other promo stuff. I figured that since she was on a magic and spell kick she would like it. She did.
I went upstairs around 10:00 P.M. Frank was reading in the Living room. Deeya was upstairs because it was about 4:00 am Ireland time.
It was windy and snowing out… WOW. Do not want. We played and watched a movie. We fell asleep on the Mattress in the big room in the basement around 12:00.
I woke up around 7:00 a.m. Deeya was in her study getting ready for the day. I asked her if she wanted some coffee and breakfast. She said “Sure”.
I got the milk out of the fridge but it was a few days out because everyone has been gone for 10 days and I don’t drink it. Zarah woke up early and came upstairs. She always does. She doesn’t want to miss anything. She caught up with me on the stairs and said Daddy why are my pants wet?. I felt them. They felt sorta damp. I chalked it up to night sweats. Any way a few minutes later we drove to the gas station and got Fresh Milk I got Zarah a Krispee Creme Doughnut. Azure was still Asleep.
Deeya said that she and Brooklynn would like an Egg over easy on toast with honey and in Deeyas case some Tabasco too. I said OK. Ooops no bread. I drove back down to the gas station and got some wheat bread.
Then after I made them Breakfast Azure woke up and wanted a Doughnut. Ooopps. I drove down to the gas station a 3rd time in an hour and got Azure a doughnut.
Everyone down there knows me. I always hang out and talk to everyone anyway.
After that was all done I told Azure that she HAD to finish or at least work on the paintings for Missy’s house that she has supposed have down for the last 5 month.
I fixed Azure a spot up in the Massage chair so she could draw, Zarah played with Play doh again. Yudi came down and the four of them played some Horse and Sword game that they makeup on the spot.
I worked very hard to sort taxes, bills, medical records…etc.. and other paperwork that I have been neglecting for months. I also put some Audio books and Azure and Zarah’s Tablets. Azure got some teen pony books and Zarah got all 24 Doctor Seuss Books. I also but 3 of my “Guitar Videos” on each one.
Later on the day around noon while the 4 of them were still playing I asked them if they were hungry. Buku said yes. She asked for a happy meal. Zarah said she wanted a Cheeseburger. Azure said no (As usual) Yudi said that she and Azure could split a happy meal also.
I said Okee Dokee. I got a veggie burger. The whole thing was 20 bucks. They enjoyed it. They were having lots of fun. Giggling and laughing. Almost to the point of driving me crazy.
Later in the after noon they had a fashion show, and a talent show.
Azure played guitar and Buku sang a Jamie grace song.
Deeya texted me at 5:20 to say that she was buying the ingredients to make a Mediterranean salad for everyone.
While Frank was cooking Chicken and Deeya was working on the Salad Yudi and Azure played keyboards in the Exercise room. Zarah kept Jamming out to DAD on her tablet. She was jamming on my Dr. Dre Beats headphones…It made me proud to see her getting into it so much
.
Around that time Whoa… I could finally tell why Zarah pants were wet when she woke up .She had wet her self earlier in the night. And it was finally ripe. lol. She took a shower. Poor thing was embarrassed. Buku did a nice job of telling her that everyone one who has ever been born has done that. She didn’t have any jammies so I had her put on a Taylor Swift 1989 Tee.
We went upstairs around 10:00 A.M. Deeya put on some Frank Sinatra. Frank prepared plates. We said grace and sat down to eat. We all had a great time. I loved my salad. Everyone did. After eating Deeya shared some tiny cupcakes. We were all laughing because the girls teeth were the color of the icing.
We started talking about Colors… Zarah named off the names of the Primary and secondary colors… Deeya and I were sorta suprised by that.
After dinner we cleaned everything up and went back downstairs. Buku had to go to bed. Yudi came downstairs and the 4 us us played Apples and Apples for about an hour. I really didn’t get the big deal but we all had fun.
Around 11:00 Yudi and the Girls laid down on the mattress. I turned out the lights and sat in the big Massage chair. We watched “the book of life” I really like its color and artwork. I waited until they all fell asleep and then I went to my Cubby hole and crashed.
I woke up at 7:00 and went upstairs. Deeya was in her study preparing homework for Buku. We talked for a while.
I went to the gas station and got a couple more doughnuts for the girls and woke them up when I got back.
I had an idea for Missy’s Paintings. I told Azure that we had to work on them after church. We left for church at 10:10. I drove we talked and laughed on the way. After we got in I told Zarah that we needed to get her checked in for Kids Church.. She was adamant that she didn’t want to go to Sunday School, She wanted to stay with me. I said “Well, lets at least check you in. If you don’t want to go when they call then O.K.”… I thought for sure she would change her mind, but she didn’t .
She was very good all through the “Grownup” service. I was surprised. She laid her head on my shoulder and listened. I kept pointing out the girl drummer they had. She watched intently. I talked to several people before and after the service. I sometimes don’t really feel like it but everyone is so kind and interested. I want to be a role model for Azure and Zarah so I grin and go with the flow… As I should….
After Church Buku wanted to go to Pizza King because they have the phones at the tables that you can order from. It was very overcast and cold and windy as we left Church. We drove to Cicero and on to the Pizza King. We parked and all of us go out of the car and went to the door. The door said “open Sunday at 4:00″…
We decided to go to La Cascada. Our usual stop. Doesn’t bother me. I would eat Indian or Mexican every meal of the day.
We had a great time. Deeya and I were cracking up about stuff while the three youngins had a good time. Deeya and Buku spent a lot of time talking about Sarah and Ila and Ian, And trying to drive on the other side of the road.
As usual though Zarah didn’t eat her lunch and Azure started getting her Sunday ( My Stomach hurts) blues.
We made it back to the house around 1:30. Azure and I immediately started working on the pictures for Missy house. Azure I Worked for a couple of hours on preparing.
I set Zarah back up with her Playdoh also. After a while I remembered the fact that I forgot to set out their Easter Baskets this morning before they woke up… Drat…Oh well, I decided to go ahead and do it now….
I told them to come into the exercise room. They were exited. Azure immediately said “He looks just like Bobby Bunny”… That made my day… They loved the Easter Baskets.
Azure and I worked for another hour or so on the Paintings, while Zarah played with magnets and watched a Barbie movie on the wall.
At one point Deeya came downstairs and said “Wow! this a little girls paradise!”
Finally fatigue set in on Azure and I said. “OK… lets finish the pencil outline and then we will paint next week”. She said O.K.
She took a break for a while and practiced guitar and then her keyboard.
While this was going on, I put the last three years on my blog on both of their tablets on PDF format so that they could read them without having Internet.
I gave Zarah her tablet and she spent the next hour looking a the block pics going “whoa when was that?”. Azure decided that she wanted to paint that picture of the red cat that she saw in Yats yesterday. She spent about 90 minutes on that.
By now it was 5:00 and Courtney wanted to meet at 6:30. We packed up and got ready to go.. Yudi came down and asked if she could take the girls to AWANA…I was like…I can’t I am tired I have to work tomorrow. I have already made plans with Courtney to meet…
Zarah, cried and moped around for about 15 minutes. I felt bad but we grownups have things to do to.
Finally we left it was a lot warmer now that earlier today…Indiana….It was still windy and rainy.We left at the same time as Buku and Yudi.
Azure read a book in the car while Zarah played Mine-craft on her tablet.
I ran into Wal-mart and got 2 money orders. Then we drove to Starbucks. As usual Zarah asked for a cake pop. I relented and we went inside. I got a tall latte. After a few minutes we went back out to the car. we waited about 15 minutes and Courtney pulled up in her White Expedition. We made the swap and talked for a minute….Zarah wouldn’t let go of me. I hugged her 5-6 times and finally said. “I got to go” … What a wonderful weekend I had…I am so blessed…..
