Franklin and I went to Clay Terrance to meet Courtney and the girls. Missy along with Courtney, and Jessica were on their way to Hoosier Park to see the Beach Boys. So this was a kind of half way point. ( The original plan for them was just to come to Deeya and Franks house but they decided to spend some time shopping at Clay Terrace )
At just before 3:00 Frank and I went in to a little girls shop called Justice. I was trying to find something for Azure and Zarah for their Birthdays. I felt a little apprehension because I was not sure how much their interests and tastes had changed while I was away. I called Missy, she said she really didn’t have any ideas, except that she wanted a game called “Minecraft” ( I had already secretly loaded it on my laptop at Deeya for Azures Birthday).
I called Courtney and asked her if she had any ideas for Azure and Zarah. She said no not really. She knows Zarah likes “Minny Mouse“
I called Deeya and she put Brooklynn on the phone. She said Azure would like a veterinarian kit or anything to do with Ponies. So anyway, we made the exchange. Seeing Courtney
I sang,Zarah bo beara banana fanna fo Farrah to Zarah in car. She didn’t know what to think. She just kept knitting up her eyebrows at me and giving me that look we all know so well. Franklin and Azure were cracking up at the expression on Zarahs face while I was singing. But Zarah never broke character. It was Hilarious. The 3 of us got a
big kick out of it. I then sang it to Azure and even did a round for
Frank.
As soon as we got to the house, both girls said they were hungry ( Azure
even used the word FAMISHED ).
The VERY first thing Zarah said when we got downstairs was “Look a kintar!” (guitar) My Stratocaster was on a stand in the basement. She picked it up and started strumming the strings.
Azure was bummed because Brooklynn and
Deeya were taking a nap.
I said, well I got you a present for your Birthday and you can only play it while you are here and while there are not other things going on. She said what is it?
I walked over to my laptop sat down on the floort and started “Minecraft “ Azure saw it and came up behind me and put her head on my back and wrapped her arms around me and was so excited. It made me happy. to make her happy.
I made a grilled cheese sandwich for Azure and SpongeBob Kraft mac and cheese for Zarah.
(While eating Zarah commented that she had “stabbed sponge bob in the eye with her fork and was eating him.). What a nut.
Shortly after that Brooklynn got up all 3 of them wanted to play my Stratocaster. So I got out 2 acoustics so that all 3 of them could play at the same time. I was suprized because this went on for a full hour.
I took lots of pics of them playing. I sent one to Courtney on her Iphone. I was happy to see them express an interest in it.
A little while later. Broolynn and Zarah started playing house. Azure said “I wish I could play guitar”. I said I can teach you, you just have to spend some time practicing. I told her I have been playing for years and I still practice to get better,
She wanted me to show her how to play a little bit. And since this would be her first ever lesson. And in fact she had never shown an interest before. I started up Franks little HD video camera. I showed Azure a G Chord and a D and A Chord. She caught on the them really quickly. I was very proud. She played for quite awhile. I was surprised and very happy. She was doing a great job.
A little while later Deeya came down and got Brooklynn and told her she needed to practice piano for a while. Zarah and I migrated up there. Zarah was all big eyed and watched Brooklynn play. As soon as Brooklynn was finished practicing Zarah climbed up on the bench and started pressing keys.
I pulled out the ole video and sat on the bench with her. ( She didn’t want me to press any keys though) There was a large metal peacock in the corner of the room by the piano. I asked Zarah “Hey Zarah what kind of bird is that ?” She said “It’s aHeHawk“. I laughed and asked her again because I wanted to hear her say it again.
I left the room for a minute and could here her singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and pressing handfuls of keys at the same time. ( It was awesome).

I put in the movie CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG. and the 3 of us watched it. I sang along with Dick Van Dyke on the song “You Two” and pointed to Zarah and Azure at the same time
About 8:00 p.m. Zarah said she wanted to go for a walk. I said O.K. Azure decided she wanted to go .
Zarah got her Tryke and Azure got on Brooklynn old pink bike. We went around the path and Azure talked alot about Minecraft. Brooklynn came out and yelled for us. We found her and the 3 little girls rode around the drive by the big barn while I sat and watched. Then they decided to get on the trampoline. They jumped around on that for about 30 minutes, until it was almost dark out.
We went back in the house and Brooklynn had to get ready for bed. Both my girls sat on my lap and we watched more of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Then about 10:00 PM I put a pull up on Zarah and we made our way to our little “fort” . I read Camilla the Cupcake Fairy to them and Barbie and her Dancing Shoes. Then we turned out the lights. I told them I loved them. And we all fell right to sleep.
Sunday September 1st, 2013
Got up around 7 am. Brooklynn saw me around 8 am and asked me if azure was up. I told
her no. I woke Azure and Zarah up and we all got ready for Church. Zarah tried to comb
my hair while I was sitting on Deeyas bed. Deeya took a couple of pictures. We left
the house around 9:15 am. We ended up going to McDonalds for breakfast. Everything
else was really crowded. Probably because of Labor day weekend. We got to church at
10:0 am Zarah went to the 3-4 year old play room and Brooklynn and Azure went to
Sunday School. They had a really nice service. We left at about 12:30. Zarah had a
picture that she colored and said “Here daddy I colored this for you”.I loved it.
We got back and Deeya, Frank and Brooklynn went and practiced tennis. And while they
were out they stopped at the store and picked up a couple of things for Azure and
Zarahs Birthday. While they were gone Zarah asked me if I would watch her while she
played the piano for me. I said “Sure” Then she played for a couple of minutes and
then she said “your turn”. I sat down at the Piano and pounded out an old Roadmaster song.

I sang it also.(The song was “Doesn’t mean a thing”. Click on the CD cover above to hear RoadMaster perform it Live) When I got done I turned around and looked at Zarah. She had the funniest look on her face Like she was amazed at what she just heard. Then she said
“DO THAT AGAIN”… I started laughing. Then after that Azure and Zarah and I rode the
two seat bicycle hen with the toddler seat on the back. After that I gave Azure a
guitar lesson that lasted about an hour. he did super good I was very proud of her. I
got online an found a few really easy kids songs. She worked on “If your happy and you know it” She did a great job. Now she knows A, C, D, G, E and Em.
After Deeya and Frank and Brooklynn got back I blew up balloons and wrapped gifts for Zarah and Azure. Then Frank ordered Pizza. We ate pizza and then Brooklynn, A & Z and I went back outside and rode bikes. I pushed Zarah in her Tricycle with the Handle. While we were outside Deeya and
Frank Decorated the kitchen with Helium Balloons and got the gifts set out. Then we
came back in and put candles on Cup cakes and blew them out.

and had a great time. Zarah got a Microphone that made her voice sound really high (
Supposed to sound like Minnie Mouse) Zarah loved it we all cracked up watching Zarahs face
while she played with it.
Then we went in the basement and watched two ” Barbie Princess” Movies. Brooklynn and Azure played with my guitar and with the helium
balloons and Azures new toy pony. It was about 9 pm by now and I was getting really
tired. Brooklynn went upstairs and Azure started playing “MineCraft”. Zarah wore her
“Minnie mouse” ears for a while and played with the helium balloons.
Finally around 11:00 P.M.
Zarah zonked out on the mattress. Azure and I stayed up until about midnight each on a
laptop.Monday morning the girls woke up at 9:00 a.m. Azure still had her horse with
her in bed and put it on her chest and was stroking the horses tail. Most of the
balloons had floated 1/2 way or all the way to the carpet in the last few hours. there
was a group of balloon that were just barely touching the carpet but were still
vertical. Zarah said “Look the balloons are sitting up like me”. I made a sippy cup of
chocolate milk for Zarah and peeled a small orange for her. Azure didn’t want anything
but asked if she could play Minecraft until Brooklynn got up.
Monday September 2nd, 2013
I Woke up at 8:30 am. Judy fixed pancakes for Azure and Zarah. Azure played minecraft for a while.
Zarah
wanted to play with her “Minnie Mouse Microphone” as soon as she got
up. Brooklynn and Azure took a bath together. After they got done I gave
Zarah a bath upstairs. She had fun playing with the toys in the tub.
Deeya and Frank and Brooklynn left for a little while to go shopping for
school stuff for Brooklynn. Zarah and I played the Minnie Mouse match
game for a while. And then I started working on the glow in the dark
bracelets for Azure. Brooklynn and Azure ended up helping me braid the
strands. I made one for Zarah, Azures new toy horse and one for me also.
( Azure told me to make one for me and her horse) I made a bowl of
Watermelon for Azure and Zarah. Azure and Zarah and Judy played hide and
seek in the basement for a while. I gave Azure another guitar lesson
and printed off some sheet music for kids songs.
Courtney
came over around 6:00 pm. She came down in the basement and I kinda
showed some of the pictures and videos that I had recovered from my hard
drive. Courtney seemed to be really interested in them. Courtney asked
me to make some “MineCraft” Birthday invitations for Azures Birthday
party. I told her I would. Here is the finished product.
