Maybe Spring is here!!!! Weekend with may girls!

Friday was a nice day out. I blew the leaves off the front porch and did some things to get ready to play at the Mini-Marathon. I have been debating about having the girls all week because the basement has no carpet in it since it flooded and I just couldn’t decide if it would be good to have them over while it is in disrepair. However I talked to Azure and she said she wanted to come over. And Missy told me over the phone that Zarah had already packed a bag Thursday Night to come over.

I decided what I would do since it was nice out is set up a tent in the back yard that way we could spend time outside instead of down in the basement. I called Courtney and we made the arrangements. Then I set the tent up about 4:00 P.M.

Deeya met Courtney at 6:00 P.M. at Starbucks at 96th and Meridian. When they got here Deeya said “I hope you have a lot of energy.” Both the girls were really glad to see me. I got super long hugs from both of them. Those were worth the whole weekend right there!!!!

We played outside. Brooklynn and Azure were barefoot. So of course Zarah had to take her shoes and socks off too. Azure and Brooklynn ended up getting their hands feet and faces very muddy.

I took a bucket of warm water outside and cleaned off their hands and feet. I took some pictures because they looked really silly. Around 8:00 it was Brookynn’s bedtime.

The girls and I went to the tent and made Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches and had some individual Kool-Aid Drinks. Then we watched. RIO. Zarah has a new “Blu” Parrot stuffed animal that Missy bought her.  Both the Girls fell asleep about 10:30.

Scott Burke called me at 11:00 P.M. He has his recording studio set up in his basement and he invited me over to write some songs. We talked for over 1/2 an hour. He really encouraged me to start writing music again.

I went to sleep around Midnight and didn’t sleep very well at all. The girls were sprawled out over the whole tent and had all the blankets and pillows. But it was O.K. they were safe and happy and with me, so I was happy.

We got up around 6:00 A.M. I walked to the house and got some Oranges and a couple of Granola bars and took them to the girls. We watched “Ratatouille” and waited for it to get warm out.

After it got warm out I started a fire in the firepit. Azure made a “Robot” suit out of a cardboard box and played with it. She looked funny I took some video of it. Zarah played with her new Nerf Gun that Missy bought her.

Azure Brooks “Singing in the Rain -Robot Style!

Deeya and Frank and Brooklynn left for Athletic Revolution at 9:00 A.M. We went inside and made Krave and Honey Nut Cheerios for Breakfast. Then the Girls and I went out to the Yard and Played. We walked around the trail. Azure and Zarah explored the creek under the bridge on the trail. They had fun exploring I watched from the bench on the bridge and took pictures.

Deeya bought some candy and Easter baskets, and eggs and an egg decorating kit for the 3 girls and asked me if I would do the stuff with them because her and Frank were going to walk 10 miles today to get ready for the Mini. I said Sure.  Before I started this Azure and Brooklynn played in the back yard and on the trail. I put Zarah in the seat on the back of my bike and we rode down to the Store. I bought a Mountain Dew. She always begs me to take her somewhere on the Bike but I never have been able to do it before because I don’t want Azure riding a bike on that road. So since Zarah and I had some alone time I decided to do it.

Then after we got back I drove the golf cart over to get the mail. I was glad to get the music business cards I had ordered from Vistaprint. Zarah kept begging me to let her drive the golf cart. So finally I told her she could sit on my lap and steer. She did WAY better than I expected.

Then we colored Easter eggs

We had and Easter egg hunt.

Ate Mac and Cheese and Mashed pots
Buku went and had Easter Pictures taken
Zarah asked Yudi why she had a Jesus room.
The girls took baths And played with judy till 8 pm
Frank and I moved old carpet and when to the lake house.
I am exhausted.

Frank took a shower at 7:30 and Deeya and Frank went out for a while
At 8:30 P.M. I went in the house with Zarah and I decided to cook a pizza. While I waited for the oven to heat up I painted Zarahs fingernails with a sparkly pink color. She said “After we do this I want a tattoo” I hope she meant a temporary one. But I said that’s not a good idea. Then she said “Why does everyone get their fingernail painted?” I said “I don’t” she said “Well that’s because you’re not a girl yet!”. That made me laugh.

When the Pizza got done we walked outside in the dark. I could hear the 3 girls voices. Zarah and I walked back towards the tent and found them sitting on the swing in the dark. I offered them the Pizza, which they happily accepted. Until Zarah knocked it off the swing into the dirt. Zarah and I got in the tent and put on “RIO”. It was about 9:30 P.M. I told Azure to come to the tent when it was time for Brooklynn to go to bed. She came about 30 minutes later. Zarah wet the bed in the middle of the night. I put her on the other side of the tent beside me. I woke up at 7:00. I didn’t want to get up. The birds were singing and there was the nicest spring breeze rolling through the tent. It was perfect.

The 3 of us walked to the house and had Cereal. I washed Zarahs hair on the kitchen counter and tried to brush it. She did good. I didn’t do so good. I was frustrated with trying to comb it. That set off the whole rest of the day for me. We got to church and sat by Steve and Diane. Azure started crying again when the music started. The girls eventually went to the children’s services.

We got back to the house around 12:30. Brooklynn had to practice for a presentation at school. Azure and Zarah played on the trampoline for a while.

Azure took me and Zarah on a tour of the woods. Frank made lunch for everyone. We ate at the Kitchen  table. Pataka the cat has been missing for two days now. I don’t expect to see him again.

We took the Plants that were in the kitchen that the girls planted last time they were here and made a spot in the old garden to transplant them. Each girl put on gloves and took a small hand shovel and dug out a few small holes. We planted the Marigolds, Tomatoes, Carrots, and Jalapeno Peppers. We had fun.

Then we watched the video I made for the Webbs.  I added the slide show I made for them here.

Then I went and got Azures guitar. We sat on the Swing by the firepit and practiced “Beautiful Day”. Azure did really well. I think this encouraged her. She asked if she could take the guitar home. I tore the tent down. By now it was time to go. Azure teared up a little. I told her just to hang in there and be happy. Everything works out in time.

During the ride back, Frank gave Azure a pep talk about School and Guitar and Math and Reading on the way to meet Courtney.  Zarah fell asleep. When we arrived Courtney gave me a copy of Azures’ latest School Picture. My little girl is getting so big.

We said our goodbyes. Frank and I went into Starbucks and got a couple of Coffees. I was so burned out from my day that I took a nap when we got back. I got up about 9:30 and went to the Study. Frank and Deeya were in there looking at videos on getting a new cat. Deeya said Brooklynn was really sad that Pataka was gone. A few minutes later I heard a sound. I said “Shhh wait a second” then I heard it again. It was a cat meowing. I ran to the front door and opened it. And Pataka was standing there. He came in and Brooklynn was so happy. Everyone was in fact. It was a Happy ending for the weekend.
