Courtney and Azure and Zarah went to the Drag Races on Friday night. So I met them on Saturday morning. Deeya, Frank and Brooklynn went to Tennessee for the Labor day weekend. I got up around 7:30 and tried to do a couple of things for work.
My boss called me and told me not to worry about it until next week. I said cool thanks. Another hot day today in a string of 90 days lately.
I drove the Hyundai to meet Courtney at 86th and 465 on the west side of Indy. On the way I stopped at Goodwill for the Half price sale. I got tons of shirts and pants for 25.00 that was good.
I met Courtney at Taco Bell around 11:30. The girls and I ate inside. Courtney gave the girls 10.00 to eat.
Zarah with a random Selfie in the back seat..
We drove downtown to the Labor Day “fair” that they were putting on down at Georgia Street. We stayed for a couple of hours.
I got a parking ticket. For some reason I was thinking it was Labor Day. Parking is free on Labor day…. ooops. 20.00 down the drain.
Zanna-Doo minus Zanna
Zarah’s balloon decided it wanted to be free..
We went back to the house and goofed around for about an hour. Then we drove to Cicero. Azure wanted to put a white sheet up outside and watch a movie with the projector. So we went to the Redbox at the Mcdonalds in Cicero. They had already seen every kids movie that they had. We got some food to go.
We got back to the house and I put in “Hotel Transylvania” on the T.V. upstairs. I made Popcorn and Hot Chocolate for the girls.
I got on Facebook and uploaded “Hard to Handle”. Yudi, Azure and Zarah came down stairs and played for a while. Yudi went to bed about 10:30. The girls fell asleep about 11:00. I went to bed about 1:00
I got up at 7:30 on Sunday. Zarah wanted me to turn the bathroom light on for her. The girls ate cereal and drew pictures all morning.
I packed up stuff to go to the pool in Noblesville. It is a nice one. I figure this may be the last weekend of 90 degree weather so we better go while we can.
We left around noon. We drove past the Indiana Transportation museum. I pulled in and went inside. I found out they were getting ready to do a train ride in about 10 minutes. So I got 3 tickets and we rode in a caboose for several miles. We had fun. It was a nice learning experience for the girls.
Then we went over to the “water park” we had a lot of fun. we stayed about 3.5 hours. Azure wanted to leave. But Zarah didn’t. We finally left and came back to the house.
I wanted to chill for a while before we went to “Symphony on the Prairie”. Yudi left for Mass at 5:15 but said that she would be back in time to got with us to the show.
I tried to do an experiment that I saw on Facebook with the girls using Food coloring, milk, and dish soap. But it didn’t work like the video… grrrr…I made Mac and Cheese for the girls
Yudi got back about 7:10. We left and went to Conner Prairie. We got there about 7:40…. It was PACKED.. I couldn’t’ believe how many people were there.
We staked out a spot with our blanket and two folding chairs. I got Zarah a Vanilla Ice Cream cone. Yudi got some Fries. Azure got a chocolate cone, and I got a pretzel.
We talked about riding the hot air balloon. I wished I would have thought about it a few minutes earlier. By the time I realized I could take a picture of the crowd from the balloon it was nearly dark. Once they told me it would be another 15 minutes I decided not to do it. Zarah was disappointed. Azure was glad…lol
On the way back from the balloon to the show I could see bats flying around. I pointed them out to Azure and Zarah. Azure was like “wow, I have never seen a bat. How do you know that they are bats?” Azure was barefoot and carrying her shoes. We were in a open field with no one near us. I said “Watch” and I threw here shoe up in the air when a bat flew over head. Nothing really happened. Zarah ran over and picked up the shoe. Then when the bat flew over again Zarah threw Azures shoe up in the air and the bat dove and chased it….Azure and Zarah were like “Whoa… did you see that?”… it was fun. I used to do that when I was little.
I explained to her how bats have poor vision (Plus its dark out )
and that they use radar/sonar to tell when bugs and other things are near them.
Yudi left and met Andrew out by the road. Zarah and Azure went down by the stage. They had a dance floor. They were playing Elvis Presley songs. The 3 of of danced together and had a great time. They played a slow song and I told Azure that I wanted to have a dance with her, to make up for missing taking her to a daddy daughter dance this year. She started crying.. She said she didn’t know why she was crying.
We decided to leave about 3/4 of the way through the show. I didn’t want to sit in the traffic while 10,000 people tried to leave at once.
We got back to the CRV and I saw the lights were still on.. I was like “oh no” but since the lights are still on it may start.
Unfortunately it wouldn’t start. I walked down to an employee in a golf cart and he radioed a truck to come up and give us a jump.
I put OFF on the girls and we sat outside and waited for them. It is a beautiful night out tonight. I am very happy and greatful for my life and my daughters.
After about 20 minutes the truck showed up and jumped us. I said thank you and we left. All the way back to the house Azure and I talked about Ghosts, and Scary stuff.
The summer breeze flowing through our rolled down windows was wonderful. We made some memories today. Life is good.
We got back to the house around 10:15. I remembered that there were Popsicles out in the freezer. I gave each of the girls one. Zarah fell right to sleep on the mattress after eating hers.
Azure read a book called “Wonder” while I typed this out. Azure fell asleep around 11:30. I stayed up until 1:30… Why I don’t know.
Monday. The girls got up and went upstairs and drew pictures and watched Scooby Doo until I got up at 10:00. We went out to the back yard and rounded up the chickens and herded them back to their coop. I fed them and gave them water.
Azure and Zarah collected the eggs. I let the girls take a dozen home with them. The girls spent the morning drawing.
Outstanding Job Azure. I am amazed !!!
Zarahs was super prolific this weekend. She was on a coloring mission!!!!!.
Azure is sick today. I have given her cough medicine and childrens asprin two times in the last 12 hours.
I made Pancakes for the girls.
Azure kept asking me to give her a guitar lesson. I kept getting distracted with things that needed done around the house. Finally while Zarah played minecraft on the laptop, I helped Azure with “Drops of Jupiter”. I don’t really care for the song for her but Taylor Swift did it live and the chords are easy.
I tried to get her to sing along while I played it, but she would barely make a peep. I gently told her that she is going to have to get over her shyness if she wants to be in choir this year.
She started tearing up a little again. I told her that you don’t have to be the best singer in the world to enjoy singing. And you sure don’t have to be shy in front of your dad.
I talked to her for about 45 minutes about believing in herself. And about not worrying what others think of you. If you are doing the right thing and you are happy, then let the rest go.
She finally played the song all the way through (without singing) about 6 times. We will just have to keep working on her self confidence.
We finally left the house at 4:45 to go to Wal-mart and meet Courtney. We drove the CRV to the Westfield Wal-Mart. We went inside and I went to get a couple of money orders. The girls went over to the toys for a minute.
I went ahead and filled out the money orders while I was there. And I sat my billfold down beside me. Azure and Zarah came back and I was like, “Are you two ready?” They said yes and we left.
When we got to 96th and Meridian we went through the McDonalds Drive through to get them a drink and a cookie. I was sitting in the line and I reached back to my pocket to grab my bill fold and I realized I didn’t have it.
I was like Oh NO!!!. I pulled out of the line and drove over to Starbucks across the street to Courtneys Excursion. Dan got out and shook my hand. Azure and Zarah got out.
I told Dan, Sorry I have to go right now but I left my Billfold at Wal-mart. We were both sure it was gone forever. I gave Azure a hug and kiss goodbye and told Zarah that she was going with me for a while.
She didn’t ask why or anything. She jumped back in the back seat and buckled her seat belt. We drove all the way back to the Westfield Wal-Mart rather quickly.
Zarah and I both ran in. She was laughing because we were running. I went back over the picture/photo computer area where I was before. A lady said “Are you looking for a wallet? I said “Yes”. She said that some one just turned it in.
I said “I could kiss you”. She laughed. They went and got it from the office. I told her that in this day and age I figured I would never see it again. She agreed, but said that people turn stuff in all the time. That was nice to hear.
Zarah and I looked around for hair bands. I got her 3 colors for 3.00 dollars. We got back in the CRV it was about 6:00 and the “Frozen – Disney on Ice” Started at 7:00.
Zarah had no idea we were going but she happily brushed her hair and put on a hair band. Then she said;” I want to wear my frozen dress but I left it in the Excursion.” I chuckled to myself that a 5 year old was using the word “Excursion.”
Then she happened glance in the back of the CRV and saw it. She was excited. I said “You can put it on”… She said “Yay”. I thought it was funny that she was all dressed up for the show and didn’t even realize it.
We parked on the corner and got out. I wasn’t going to say anything to Zarah but she Immediately noticed, and made a comment about all the little kids walking down the sidewalk in Frozen dresses. I took out my Iphone and made a video of me telling her where what we were doing.
(Video coming soon)
We went inside and got our seats she was happy and excited the show started about 5 minutes later. They did a really good job with the show. I would have been hard to do all the scenes in the movies on a skating rink.
But at one point in the show, Zarah decided that it wasn’t planned as well as it could have been because she made the comment to me, “They don’t know how the movie goes”
I started laughing. We had a great time. During the intermission I told her that she could get one item for her birthday. She spent 15 minutes trying to make up her mind. I was proud of her for not throwing a fit for more than one item.
The stuff was WAY over priced. A plastic cup with an Icee in it was 15 dollars. She finally settled on a 2 part Elsa and Anna friend ship necklace. I thought that was a good choice. it was 18.00 dollars. She said she was going to give Azure the Anna half. I thought that was a sweet little sister. I am choked up by Zarahs gestures of love for Azure sometimes. ( Even tho they fight fight cats and dogs sometimes )
I got Zarah a pretzel and me a personal cheese pizza.
We got back to our seats for the second half. It was really good. We both enjoyed it.
As soon as it was over we bolted for the exits. I called Courtney and let her know my phone was about dead, because I took so many pictures. She suggested we meet at “Loves” truck stop at 267 near Whitestown. We got there and I let Zarah play the “Crane” toy to get a pink plastic ball.
She was really excited when she finally got it. (It was a play until you win game)
Courtney showed up and took a couple of pictures of Zarah and I together. I took the back roads home. I made it by about 10:30. I am so tired I can’t believe it.
Bed at 11:00. What a great weekend though. I laid down and thanked God for all of the blessings he has bestowed on me.
