December 12th – 18th 2016

Azure had a School Christmas Choir Performance. It was COLD outside today. ugh. When I got the the Church from work it was nearly dark outside. I went inside. Courtney basically had the whole front row reserved. She had helped put together the performance with the Choir Teacher so she got front seats. Dan, Missy, Tim, Zarah, Courtney and I watched Azure perform 3 songs with her classmates. They did a great job. I was really proud of Azure for being such a talented and sweet team mate. She stood there professionally delivering her lines. Dads heart swelled at the sight her her standing there.

The skipped the Chipmonk Song for some reason. and did the remaining three songs.

The performance went off with out a hitch until a little girl got sick at the very end. one more minute and she woulda made it out of there without a problem. Everyone felt bad for her. But Azure said that she was at School the next day and everything went fine for her. I walked around the school 2 times in the freezing cold trying to find my car. Azure called me a few minutes later and asked me where I was. I was sad that I didn’t stay long enough to see her. I figured she would be busy for a while so I left after it was over.

December 16, 17, 18 2016 –

I took off work at 4:00 and drove over to Brownsburg to get the girls. They were at the house and excited to see me. We drove up to Cicero. We stopped at Hwy 31 and 32 at a Subway and had some dinner. Azure and I both had a Veggie Sub.

I had recently downloaded a season of “Bob Ross Painting” . I wanted to see if it interested Azure. She seemed to really love it and was amazed at how quick he could make a pretty painting. She wanted to start immediately.

She was super excited to paint one and did a really great job. The only major difference was that Azure was using Acrylic paint and Bob used Oil paint.

I had decided a few weeks ago to dig out all of my old reel to reel 8 tracks and see if could convert them to digital tracks for preservation’s sake.

I went to Jeff Hedbacks house and picked up my old Tascam 8 track reel to reel. It needed some work so I sent it off to Tascam in California. It weighs 68 pounds. Wasn’t cheap to send there and back.  I got the tape deck back around this time.

Then after I pulled the tapes of storage and put one on the player the tapes were shedding and sticky (Almost like masking tape )

I was like… oh no, all of my tapes are ruined. I did some research on the internet and called a few producer friends, and found out that if you back the tapes at 135 degrees for 24 Hours it will restore them for about 2 weeks. I thought that was the craziest thing I ever heard of.

I was skeptical but I really didn’t have a choice. As this appeared to be my only options.

I bought a presonus 1818VSL audiobox to convert the signal from analog to digital

I ordered a scientific thermometer. that went from 100 to 200 degrees.  I was amazed at how well they packed it… Look at all that stuffing for that thin yellow tube…lol

I also ordered a food dehydrator from Amazon for 99 dollars to “Bake” my tapes.

I found a lady bug crawling across the basement carpet. I put it up on the counter and got some water and a spinach leaf for it. It crawled up on the leaf and hung out for about 18 hours then disappeared.

I made the girls some Hot Chocolate with Marsh-mellows in it.

The girls made crafts and watched some Nickelodeon for a while on Friday night.

Friday night/ Saturday morning the girls chilled and watched a movie for a while.

Azure was excited to get started painting on Saturday. The girls played for a while. While they did that I went to Michaels to get Azure a special painting knife, fan brushes, and paint thinner so that she could use oil paing and try and paint Bob Ross style. ($30.00)

Look at this super job she is doing.  Soon all three of them were getting in the act.

Sunday… Morning… Painting Again.

Zarah giggled and giggled at the Elf on the shelf doing “Ballet” for a couple of Minions… She loved it.

Pat

Patoka likes Christmas trees.

Zarah and I took some “Magic Erasers”  and cleaned the walls in the hallway and down to the basement in preparation for Sarah and Andrew coming from Ireland for Christmas. She was a super trooper and worked non stop for about two hours. I was amazed.

The girls took baths around 3 and then made up a cookie recipe with Chocolate and Peanut butter. We froze them in the freezer for a hour or two. Not too bad.

We met Courtney and Starbucks around 6:30 P.M.
