Symphony on the Pairie

June 15th 2017

Most days I listen to WIBC on the way to work in the morning. Particularly Tony Katz  I have been a fan of his broadcasts for about 3 years…

Recently I had been entering a contest each day on the wibc.com website for free passes to the Symphony on the Prairie this summer. Well turns out I won some free tickets and free “Suite” Passes, private parking and $40 in food and drinks.

I found out I won via email and drove downtown on my lunch to pickup the tickets…. I was thinking to myself on the way. during the drive down I-70.. wouldn’t it be cool it ran into Tony Katz while I was at WIBC..

I found a parking spot in the circle and walked into the front doors of EMMIS and I’ll be darned if Tony wasn’t at the front desk signing out…. I said “Hey Tony I am a big fan, everyone at our office listens to you every day, can I get a pic with you?”… he said “5 Bucks” and proceeded to have the Front desk person take our photo… That was cool. I like him. …. I was pleasantly surprised that it happened though…I signed for my tickets and headed back to work…. the girls at work were amazed that I had ran in to Tony on my lunch hour….it was fun.

PS. I worked at Emmis communications for a week back in 2008 as a temp job…So I knew my way around the building

Courtney brought the girls to my work… they hung out in my office  for a few…Until 5:00 p.m.

After I clocked out and left work at 5:00 we drove the Wal-Mart in Noblesville and picked up a frisbee and some bubble blowing stuff

We arrived at Conner Prairie, with a private spot with Police entrance  …. I was digging our seats… so were the girls it was a beautiful summer day and we had a great spot to hang out..

the girls blew bubbles and rolled down the hillside while the Symphony Played… It was a beautiful night and the music was a splendid backdrop for the evening. We ate snack and felt like royalty in our tent space.. the girls had a blast playing on the hillside while the music drifted over us.

If you look closely you can see the blue Frisbee… heading to Zarah.

Summer nights, Green Grass, Symphony and Bubbles…….. The best………….

At the end of the last song fireworks began blasting over the hill behind us. We rushed out to watch them.. They were beautiful and amazing and the girls looked on in wonder at them as I took some video from my phone….what a great night.  these are the memories that I live for.
