I picked Ron up from his Apartment at 7:45 and took him to work. Then I drove to Brownsburg. I went into the office of the School and checked in. I sat there and waited for Azure’s Convocation to begin. Courtney, Missy, and Baby Brooks showed up around 9;00. We talked for a while. Then they let us go into the Gym. I helped Azure tune her guitar. She told me that she was nervous. I said don’t be nervous. Just do it like you always do and you will be fine.
One of Azure’s school mates came up and said Hi to me, and her teacher was really nice to me as well.
Her teacher sat up a microphone and an amp. Azure did a test run of the song as the other kids were filing in. After they had her volumes adjusted she stopped playing. All the kids that were already in the gym started applauding. I knew then that Azure was gonna be fine.
Azure came over and sat on the bleachers with Missy, Courtney, Brooks, and I. She was a little fidgety but she seemed fine.
The principal made several announcements and worked to get the kids excited about Summer vacation. She handed out several awards. Azure won and award and wasn’t even expecting it.
Eventually she introduced Azure and asked her to come up and play a song. Azure got up walked over, and sat down…. They had Microphone problems for a minute or two. But Azure didn’t seem fazed by it…. Once she got going she did a great job. She looked very happy.
When she got done, all the kids gave her a big round of applause. I heard a couple of adults sitting behind me saying. “She is so talented”…… We were all very proud of her. YAY…
