Azure Choir at Whitelick School

Courtney Texted me Wednesday to remind me that Azure had her School Choir Performance on Thursday May 12th. 2016

I drove over to Brownsburg after I got off of work. I went to Courtneys Mom and Dads house. I got there at 6:15 P.M.

Azure and Zarah were super glad to see me. And I them. We hung out and talked for a while. Azure kept saying she was nervous.

I kept telling her not to be, because she will do fine. I wanted her to relax and have fun with it.

Tim, Courtney and Remi were also there. We talked for a while in the Kitchen. Dan gave me a pair of his old overalls. Those will come in handy while I am working outside.

We left the edition around 6:35 Pm. Courtney and Tim went in Front of us. I rode with Missy and Danny and the Girls.

We told riddles to each other on the way there. Zarah kept wanting to give away Azure’s punchlines.

We got to the School a few minutes before 7:00. Azure and Zarah wanted to show us thier Art Drawings that were posted outside of their Classes.

They both did really good. Azure did a good one drawing the other half of her face from a photograph.

By the time we got to the Cafeteria where the performance was to be the place was almost full. We ended up sitting near the back row of tables.

A few minutes later the show started. I went over to the other side of the Cafeteria so that I could film the show closer to Azure.

She was so attentive to the teachers direction and giving in her singing performance. (Bright Eyed and Enunciating) I just couldn’t help but start crying. It made it hard to hold the phone and wipe my tears at the same time.

I felt so blessed and happy and proud and lucky all at the same time, my heart was just bursting.

My phone went down to low battery almost immediately. I was worried my phone would die before Azure got to her solo part.

I stopped the phone for one song. On the next song I started the camera again. I went over to the other side of the cafeteria were the mics were set up beside the stage.

I Could tell this was the one Azure was going to sing in. She looked a little more nervous at the start of this one.

Just before it was her part she was wringing her hands. Then she was up. She gave it all she had…Arms, voice, and all.

I was So proud of her for doing it that I basically broke down. I kept holding the camera up towards the show but I turned my face towards the wall because I was a mess..

Eventually Zarah came overto me as the show was ending and I used her for cover to get me out of the room so that I could get my composure.

I went to the restroom for a second. And went back to the cafeteria.

Azure and Courtney were talking to the Teacher and saying what a good performance it was. I pulled Azure aside and told her I was super duper proud of her. She could tell that I had been crying.

She started Crying. I started crying again… jeeze…. We went out the back door of the Cafeteria for a minute.

Eventually we all met up and made it back to our cars. Tim and Courtney had to stop at Kroger on the way back. I hung out at Missy and Dannys for about 15 more minutes.

Azure was really relived that it was over. We all kept telling her she did a great job. She said that she had two more performances to go. She said that she wouldn’t be as nervous on the next two. I said GOOD.

Zarah wanted to stay all night with me. She cried about it. There was just no way. I had to work on Friday and she had School. I told her we would have fun this weekend.
